FULTON, Mo. -- William Woods University women's basketball coach
Dan Chapla announced today that
Chanel Benson has committed to continuing her education and playing career with the Owls.
The Anaheim, Calif., native was a two-year standout for Fullerton College, helping the Hornets to a 21-8 overall record, with their 10-2 league mark good for the Orange Empire Conference title. Benson picked up second team all-OEC honors in 2011-12 after averaging 9.4 pts/gm and 7.4 reb/gm.
As a prep, she was a three-sport letterwinner at Katella High School, performing in volleyball and track and field in addition to basketball. She is the second Fullerton College transfer inked by Chapla during his tenure, as she follows Eshell Estrella in making the trek from Fullerton to Fulton.
The daughter of Leonard and Marie Benson, she intends to major in Communications at William Woods.
